Concrete hardeners are designed to penetrate into concrete and increase the strength of the concrete surface. Some hardeners are designed to deposit a material within the pores and other hardeners are designed to chemically react with the concrete. The most common type of concrete hardener is a silicate based sealer. Silicate based sealers will chemically react with the free lime and calcium to form Calcium Silicate Hydrate within the pores. Many silicate sealers available today have been enhanced to create better, stronger concrete.

Foundation Armor Hardeners – Foundation Armor manufactures three silicate based sealers: Armor S2000 (sodium silicate) and Armor L3000 (lithium silicate). Each sealer offers different benefits but all 3 are guaranteed for a Lifetime and are said to increase the strength of the concrete by up to 45%.  All sealers are concentrate – customer dilutes with warm water.

WR Meadows Liquihard – WR Meadows manufactures a sodium silicate densifier. 80% of the solution is water and 20% of the solution is silicate. If you are looking for a sodium silicate sealer without any other additives or benefits, this is it! No mention of a warranty.

LM Construction LionHard – LM Construvtion manufactures a lithium silicate densifier. If you are looking for a lithium silicate sealer without any addional additives or benefits, this is it! No mention of a warranty.
